### The Art of Linglong Porcelain ###
Linglong porcelain is a distinctive traditional Chinese porcelain technique, renowned for its delicate translucent patterns and remarkable interaction with light.
Rather than simply painting or printing the design onto the surface, small openings are carefully created in the porcelain body and filled with a specially formulated translucent Linglong glaze. During high-temperature firing, the glaze fuses with the porcelain, transforming these openings into luminous, glass-like windows.
When held to the light, the translucent details come alive, revealing a beautiful interplay of light, pattern and porcelain — one of the defining characteristics of Linglong ware.
Originating from Jingdezhen, China’s historic porcelain capital, Linglong craftsmanship has been passed down and refined through generations and is recognised as part of Jingdezhen’s Intangible Cultural Heritage ceramic craftsmanship.
Because of the nature of this traditional process, subtle variations may occur from piece to piece, giving each finished porcelain its own individual character.
